Melissa C. Chaniyara

Partner, Portfolio Manager

Melissa has been with VLP Financial Advisors for over ten years. She started as an intern and has worked her way up to being the Assistant Portfolio Manager for both Rose and Dan. Melissa is the in-house expert on our portfolio management and enhanced reporting software, Tamarac. She works closely with our advisors to make sure they have the most current and thorough information they need to work with clients.

Melissa is passionate about the art and science of portfolio management. She gets a kick out of matching investments to client objectives while balancing risk against performance. Her main duty is to oversee asset allocation for clients by monitoring portfolios, placing trades, and rebalancing accounts. She is also an integral part of VLP’s Investment Committee which meets quarterly to review our asset allocation, analyze our performance, and works to identify any changes that need to be made in holdings or target asset allocations.

In addition to her over ten years of experience at our firm, Melissa is Series 7 registered and holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance.
