Chris is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and also holds the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. The CFA designation is a well-respected credential in portfolio management and is recognized as the gold standard of the investment management industry. Chris is one of the few advisors in our industry to hold both the CFP and CFA designations.
Given his extensive knowledge of capital markets, Chris partners with individuals and families to create strategic investment and financial planning strategies. He also works with corporate executives to develop customized hedging and risk management approaches for concentrated stock positions and helps corporate clients with retirement plan design and employee education.
In addition to his partnerships with individual and corporate clients, Chris plays a crucial role on VLP’s Investment Committee in determining the asset-allocation strategy of the firm. He is extensively involved in the investment research and due diligence process.
Chris’s prior experience includes roles in equity research and investment banking at FBR Capital Markets, UBS and Morgan Stanley.
Chris is an active member of the CFA institute and of the Financial Planning Association National Capital Area Chapter.
Chris was recently quoted in Barron’s Magazine discussing technology stocks and the importance of discipline and diversification within a comprehensive portfolio management strategy.
